Esfera negra iluminada en el perímetro con llamativos gráficos blancos, bisel de aluminio negro, puntero blanco contorneado y lente de vidrio plano.

El indicador de nivel de combustible funciona enviando una corriente de bajo amperaje a tierra a través de un sensor con resistencia variable. La resistencia del sensor aumenta o disminuye con los cambios de presión, temperatura, etc.

A medida que varía la resistencia del transmisor, la cantidad de corriente que puede fluir a través de él hacia tierra cambia y el medidor se desvía, mostrando el nivel de combustible.
