|

In collaboration with the Netherlands Maritime Institute Hydrodynamic Laboratory, Vetus has developed a unique propeller shape which provides a drastic reduction in cavitation and thruster noise — perennial issues with other brands. Can also be stored as spare parts.

The efficiency is improved as well, resulting in as much as 10% lower power consumption.

These lightweight, low mass, plastic propellers attain maximum thrust very quickly.
They do not corrode and are designed for low cavitation.
These propellers provide equal thrust in both rotational directions

What is the difference between a 21 pitch prop and a 23 pitch prop

When adjusting the pitch of a recreational boat, keep in mind that each inch of pitch equates to approximately 200 rpm. Decreasing the pitch will raise the rpm, and conversely. For instance, switching from a 23-pitch to a 21-pitch propeller will result in a rise of about 400 engine revolutions per minute.

At what speed is a bow thruster most effective

Bow thrusters tend to lose effectiveness when the water speed exceeds 3 to 5 knots. Therefore, when dealing with a heavy vessel in a strong tide, complete reliance on a bow thruster is not advisable. Prolonged use of a bow thruster results in the vessel's slight forward creeping motion.
