What is a Backorder?
A backorder occurs when a customer places an order for an item that is temporarily out of stock. Rather than canceling the order, we allow customers to place a backorder, securing their item as soon as it becomes available again.
How Backorders Work
- Placing a Backorder: When you place a backorder with Freeport Marine Supply, your item is reserved for you as soon as it is back in stock. You'll be charged for the item at the time of shipping, just like a regular order. Some items of higher value require charging items upfront.
- Estimated Availability: We provide an estimated date for when the backordered item is expected to be back in stock. Please note that this date is subject to change due to factors beyond our control, such as production delays or supplier availability.
- Shipping: Once the backordered item is back in stock, we'll promptly ship it to you using the shipping method selected at checkout. You'll receive a notification with tracking information once your order has been dispatched.
- Partial Shipments: If your order includes both in-stock and backordered items, we may choose to split the shipment. Rest assured, you won't incur any additional shipping charges for the backordered items.
Cancellation and Refunds
